In the last stretch of July, demand surged more than usual due to the possible increase in PET prices in August and September.

News from Asia points to a rise in PET prices, as well as its raw materials.

For August, some producers have announced slight price increases. Others cannot accept orders until the end of the month due to being “oversold.”

Oil has changed its course and has already surpassed the $80 per barrel level, which foreshadows an increase in naphthas prices in a couple of months, consequently affecting raw material costs.

Finally, the production reduction measures by OPEC+ have started to take effect, and the price of oil has broken the downward trend that was observed since June of last year.

Forecasts indicate that its price will continue to rise due to a revival in demand during this second semester.
