Bulletin: 124
Date: January 2021
The pandemic caused by Covid-19 has decisively influenced the behavior of the price of PET and its raw materials in 2020
The month of May was the one that registered the lowest price of the year, to later recover slightly.
It should be noted that PET, in 2020, has registered the second lowest average price in the historical series, reaching only € 750 / ton.
The prospects for 2021 are better, from all aspects, after the start of mass vaccinations for Covid-19 and already for this month of January, significant price increases of between € 50 and € 70 / ton have been announced.
- BRENT OIL
The crisis generated by the Covid has been devastating for crude oil, causing a historic drop.
In the month of April there was even a day when its minimum price did not exceed 16 USD per barrel.
In November, after the US elections in which a change was confirmed in the presidency and the coincidence with the announcement of the FDA approval of the vaccine from Pfizer, the price of oil began to improve substantially, though far from the beginning of year values.
