As we approach the end of the summer season, changes in the price trend of PET are beginning to emerge.

The overall upward trend in oil prices, particularly in Brent, which has a 95% correlation with the price of PET, suggests a change in trend, as already witnessed in August.

At this point in September, despite a slowing demand, price increases of around 40-50 €/mt have already materialized.

For the second consecutive month, the price of Brent has increased, and by the end of August, it was hovering around $90 per barrel, a fact that has been confirmed, and as of today, its quotation is already above $90, with peaks exceeding $91 per barrel.

The European Commission aims to enforce payment to suppliers within 30 days.

This is one of the measures that the European Commission will submit to Parliament for approval with the aim of reducing delays in commercial relationships and promoting business liquidity.

If approved, this new regulation will replace the European Directive on Late Payments, and it will have immediate and direct applicability to each national legislation. The main measure is that companies will have to pay within a maximum of 30 days, instead of the previous 60 days as stipulated in the Directive.
