PET

In the first four months of the year, the average price reached is the same as that of 2021, having experienced a decrease over the 2022 average of €440/MT.

From June 2022 to date, the price of virgin PET has not stopped falling and so we have that in April its average price has stood at €1,140/Tm.

RPETs have also experienced substantial price drops.

As far as demand is concerned, it is still below what would be desirable for this time of year.

At the time of writing this bulletin, there was still no closed price for the MEG

BRENT OIL

 Although in our previous issue we announced that, by surprise, OPEC+ had announced a decrease in oil production of 1.66 million barrels per day and after the announcement its price began to rise with a rapid trend to reach $90 a barrel, the reality was that in the middle of the month, its price began to drop due to the poor prospects for the world economy.

So much so, that in the last five days of Brent oil prices it has already fallen below $80 a barrel again.
